TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions apply to all design, ordering, supply and fitting services provided by The Curtain Consultancy Ltd.

By accepting our quotation or paying a deposit, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

 

1. OUR SERVICE

The Curtain Consultancy provides an independent design, consultation, measuring, product specification, order management and fitting service.

We work with a range of independent third-party suppliers, which may include Blinds 2go, Jane Clayton, Tin-Smith, Nets Direct, The Pure Edit and others.

We do not manufacture the products ourselves. The relevant supplier is responsible for manufacturing its products and for its own product warranties and specifications.

 

2. SUPPLIERS & PRODUCT SELECTION

We will direct you to the relevant supplier so that you can research the company and products yourself, including reviewing their website, terms, warranties and product information.

Where available, we strongly recommend obtaining physical samples before ordering, particularly for fabrics, colours and finishes. Colours shown on screens may differ from the actual product.

You are responsible for approving your final choice of product, colour, fabric, finish, measurements and specification before we place the order.

The relevant supplier’s terms will apply to supplier-specific matters, subject to your statutory rights.

 

3. BESPOKE & MADE-TO-MEASURE PRODUCTS

Our products are generally bespoke or made to measure and are ordered specifically for you.

Once an order has been approved and placed, it may not be possible to cancel, amend or return it simply because you have changed your mind.

Where applicable, the statutory cancellation right for distance contracts does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.

This does not affect your legal rights if goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise do not meet the required legal standard.

 

4. OUR DESIGN & ORDER-HANDLING FEE

We charge a fee for the professional services we provide, including design advice, product research, quotation preparation, measuring, specification, supplier liaison, order placement, administration and project coordination.

Unless otherwise stated, this fee is incorporated within the quoted product and/or installation prices and is not charged as a separate additional amount.

 

5. QUOTATIONS & APPROVAL

Your quotation will set out the products and services included and the total price.

Before we place your order, you must check and approve the quotation, product, fabric, colour, finish and other specifications.

Once approved, we will place the order according to that specification.

Any changes or additional work requested after approval may incur additional charges.

 

6. PAYMENT

Our standard payment terms are:

75% deposit – payable before we place your order.

25% final balance – payable immediately upon completion of fitting on the same day.

The final balance is due before our fitting team leaves, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

 

7. DELIVERY & FITTING

Delivery and manufacturing dates are estimates because we rely on third-party suppliers.

We will keep you informed of significant delays and rearrange fitting where necessary.

Our fitting service is carried out with reasonable care and skill and is subject to our Public Liability/Public Indemnity Insurance.

You must provide safe and reasonable access to the installation area and tell us about any known issues such as concealed wiring, plumbing, asbestos or unsuitable walls or ceilings.

Additional charges may apply where unforeseen conditions require extra work, equipment or a return visit.

 

8. FAULTS & AFTERCARE

Please inspect your installation when completed and let us know promptly if there is a problem.

If a product is faulty, damaged or does not match the agreed specification, we will investigate and, where appropriate, liaise with the relevant supplier to arrange a suitable remedy.

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms & Conditions or by any supplier warranty.

Please follow the supplier’s care and operating instructions. Damage caused by misuse, incorrect cleaning, accidental damage or unauthorised alterations may not be covered by warranty.

 

9. WEBSITE, PHOTOGRAPHS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Curtain Consultancy owns or has permission to use the content, branding, photographs, designs, imagery and written material on our website and marketing materials.

These may not be copied or used commercially without our permission.

We may photograph completed installations for our portfolio, website and marketing.

Third-party supplier trademarks, photographs and product information remain the property of their respective owners.

 

10. PRIVACY

We handle your personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

 

11. LIABILITY

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any liability or statutory right that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for problems caused by incorrect information or measurements supplied by you, misuse of products, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

 

12. COMPLAINTS

If you have a concern, please contact us as soon as possible:

We will investigate your complaint and work with you and, where necessary, the relevant supplier to resolve it.

 

13. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes any rights you have under UK consumer law.

 

IN SUMMARY

By proceeding with your order, you confirm that:

  • You have had the opportunity to research the relevant supplier and products.

  • You have been advised to obtain samples where appropriate.

  • You have checked and approved your product and specification.

  • You understand that products are generally bespoke or made to measure.

  • You understand that bespoke products may not be cancellable or returnable once ordered, subject to your statutory rights.

  • You understand that our design and order-handling fee is normally incorporated within the quoted product and/or installation prices, unless otherwise stated.

  • 75% is payable before ordering and the remaining 25% is payable immediately upon completion of fitting.
